In 2011, Dr. Tricia Magsino Barnabe had the brainchild of getting fellow dentists to perform on the musical stage. A successful run of the musical production Little Shop of Horrors was followed bi-annually by an ALL DENTIST CAST production of Guys and Dolls, Young Frankenstein and Lucky Stiff. Through the years, proceeds of the production has been donated to such worthy recipients as Prairie Theater Exchange, Cancer Care Manitoba, the Harvey Spiegel Scholarship Trust Fund, and the University of Winnipeg Performing Arts programs. This spring, the fabulous and talented Manitoba Dentists will be performing their fifth production-the musical comedy, The Addams Family from May 1st-5th at Théâtre Cercle Molière.
The musical is the first stage show based on the characters created by Charles Addams. Proceeds from this production will be donated to two very worthwhile causes. Half the proceeds will go to RAINBOW STAGE Education and Outreach development programs, while the other half will go to support the initiatives of THE MANITOBA DENTAL FOUNDATION. The foundation has supported such beneficiaries as the Never Alone Foundation, Mount Carmel Clinic, and Siloam Mission.
The cast is guided by creative teams director Dora Carroll, choreographer Brittany Hunter, music director Renata Rossol, and production manager Jeff Kohut. Dr. Magsino Barnabe is unable to perform in the upcoming production due to family commitments but Dr. Tom Colina represents the Filipino community as he returns to the musical stage in his role as Uncle Fester
